From the Master...

Brethren we have passed the holiday named Labor Day. The Holiday originated in1882 as the Central Labor Union (of New York) sought to create “a day off for the working citizens.”

Too many and I include myself, Labor Day indicates the end of summer. It also is time to get ready for the change of seasons which bring a different challenge. As we harvest our crops and prepare for the winter we should put in a little effort to save some extra. With the cost of heating oil increasing, I suspect that there will be quite a few families that will fall upon hard times. We must not forget our charge with respect to charity.

The fall is also a great time for Masons. The doors of our lodges open to visitations, table lodge traditions, and lodge activities. Most of our lodges have been dark for the summer. So we should take time and get out and meet other members of this great fraternity. "Let the World observe how Masons love one another."

Fraternally,
